The words of the Secretary General of the Federation of Iranian Food Associations were endorsed by the Iran`s Health Minister
Secretary General of the Federation of Iranian Food Associations and the Chairman of Agriculture in Chamber of Commerce Kaveh Zargaran, in the seventeenth meeting of Tehran Chamber of Commerce which was held in the presence of Health Minister, referred to the debate between food industry and the Ministry of Health and said “as a representative of Iran`s food industry I certainly believe that common grounds between the food industry and the Ministry of Health are the issues such as food safety and food security.”
Zargaran mentioned the efforts of food industry specialists to improve the general public health and reduce harmful ingredients. He explained about the industry and health ministry endeavours to decrease salt, sugar and vegetable oil amounts in the final products and the outcomes.
He added that, salt was once served with a variety of minerals and impurities for people, but now the food industry has established salt refinery with recrystallization and 99% of purity.
Stating that the food industry is a pioneer in increasing the quality of products in terms of public health, he said “although food has a crucial role, we believe that the public health is due to other important factors such as one`s life style.
